History
This temple was built around 1442 CE during the rule of
Saluva Narasimha Raya. Though in course of time temple was left to ruins. There
is an interesting story behind the Temple current status. Once L&T company
engineers planned a pipeline from Kalyani Dam to Tirumala for Water supply, even
after completion of the work, the water was not reaching the destination,
especially at the area of this old temple, even after many trails it was
unsuccessful, the tired engineers prayed to Lord Hanuman if this project succeeds,
they will re build the temple and make it function with Nitya Dhoopa Deepa Naivedya.
After this prayer commitment, the pipeline issue got solved miraculously
and L&T company re built the temple.
