Venkateswara Temple, Tirumala – Chakra Theertham
Chakra Theertham is one of the popular Theertham in Tirumala. This Theertham is located next to Silathoranam and holds special importance. This place houses a Swayambu Lingam. There is a platform built by the temple governance where the running water is diverted for devotees to take the water first in hand. Every pilgrim visiting Tirumala must and should visit this place.





Legends
It is believed that Lord Brahma once observed repentance at this site, Further, for cleansing this place, Lord Vishnu plunged the Sudarshana Chakram. The Sudarshana Chakra then fell into a place, which later came to be known as Chakra Theertham.





Best Time to Visit
The best time for visiting this place is during the rainy season, this place looks even more beautiful with greenery around and with white water gushing out of the rocks.
Prayers
This pond is known for cleanse bathers of sins that would lead them to the lotus feet of Lord Vishnu. Large number of devotees take holy dip at this site. Bathing in this water is really refreshing and is said to wash away the evils and confer good fortune.
Connectivity
Chakra Theertham is located next to Silathoranam. This Theertham is located at about 3 Kms from the temple. Free TTD Bus (3 trips a day) till ‘Srivari Padam’ (Lord feet), on return can get down here to also see a small park with few birds operated by TTD.
