Kumararama Bhimeshwara Swamy Temple is a Hindu Temple
dedicated to Lord Shiva, located at Samalkota Town in East Godavari district in
the Indian state of Andhra
Pradesh. Presiding Deity is called as Kumara Bheemeshwara Swamy and
Mother is called as Bala Tripura Sundari. The temple is situated outside the
town surrounded by fields. It is one of the centrally protected monuments of national importance
under the control of Archeological department.
This Temple is one of the Pancharama Kshetrams (five
temples), dedicated to Lord Shiva in Andhra Pradesh. It is a widely held belief
that a visit to all five temples in a single day would ensure salvation. Amararama
in Amaravathi, is also the only one that lies on the banks of the Krishna River
while the other four are located, two each in the East and West Godavari
districts.
