Siddhesvara Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located inside the Kapilesvara Temple Complex, located in the south western outskirt of the Kapileshwar, a well-known locality in Bhubaneswar the state capital of Odisha, IndiaIt is located at the end of Kapilesvara road leading from Lingaraj Temple to Kapileshwar Village. The temple is under the care and maintenance of Kapilesvara Temple Trust Board.
History
This temple was constructed during the rule of Kapilendradeva of Gajapati Dynasty. It was built in the 15th century AD.
The Temple
The temple is facing east. Presiding Deity is called as Siddhesvara. He is housed in the sanctum in the form of Shiva lingam within a circular yonipitha, which is made of laterite. The temple is surrounded by Kapilesvara compound wall on its northern side, Radhakrishna temple on its eastern side. It is Pancharatha on plan and Panchangabada in elevation. The temple has a vimana and a frontal porch. The temple is in pidha order.
Parvati, Kartikeya and Ganesha are the niche idols located around the walls of the shrine.
Festivals
Sankranti and Jalasayi ceremony are the festivals celebrated here with much fanfare.
