Devi Talab Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Goddess Sakthi located in Jalandhar City in Jalandhar District in Punjab State in India. It is situated in the heart of Jalandhar City. The Temple is considered as one of the 51 Shakti Peethas. Being one of the 51 Shakti Peethas of Hindu Mythology, this temple is one of the holiest sites for devotees of the Shakti sect of Hinduism.

History
The Temple is believed to be around 200 years old. It was founded by a retired session court judge Shri Mohan Lal Chopra. His son Shri Surinder Mohan Chopra (vice president of Devi Talab Temple) also devoted his entire life in serving the temple.




The Temple
This Temple Complex consists of renovated old Devi Talab Temple and a new Temple. There is a huge tank (called talab in Hindi), of older times in the Temple which gave it the name of Devi Talab Mandir. It is 200 years old large masonry tank sacred to Hindus. There is a shrine for Bhisan Bhairav in the temple premises. The temple has a structure resembling the Amarnath Cave Temple of Jammu and Kashmir. Mata Tripurmalini Shrine is situated within the temple premises. An old temple of goddess Kali also stands by the side of the Devi Talab.




Festivals
The temple is very famous for the Harballabh Sangeet Sammelan held every year in December at its precincts for the past 125 years. The main purpose of Harballabh Sangeet Sammelan is to promote Indian classical music on a wide scale. Famous classical music exponents - both instrumental and vocal - come together and perform in this fair. It presents people with one of the chances to hear some of the best music, as presented in the melodious voice of the reputed singers from all over the country. Also, it is a golden chance for the artists to address their performance to a mass audience.

The Temple is located at about 2 Kms from Jalandhar City Junction Railway Station, 5 Kms from Jalandhar Bus Stand, 22 Kms from Jalandhar Airport, 65 Kms from Ludhiana, 79 Kms from Amritsar and 94 Kms from Amritsar Airport. The Temple is situated in the heart of Jalandhar City. Jalandhar City Railway Station is well-connected to other parts of the country, Jalandhar City is a major stop between the Amritsar-Delhi rail link which is serviced by Shatabdi Express, Intercity Express, and others.
Direct train service is available for other major cities like Mumbai, Calcutta, ChennaiPatnaGuwahatiPune, HaridwarVaranasiJaipur and Jammu. The nearest airport is Jalandhar (Adampur) airport northwest of Jalandhar which currently handles only scheduled operation on maiden flights of private carrier Spice Jet to Delhi. The nearest fully-fledged International Airport is Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport in Amritsar.
