Champanatha Temple, Champeswar, Odisha

Champanatha Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Champeswar village near Narasinghpur in Cuttack District in Odisha, India. The temple is situated on the northern banks of Mahanadhi River.

History

The current temple was built by the rulers of princely state of Narasinghpur in 19^th century CE. Sculptures and remains of an ancient basement in the temple can be dated to Ganga rule (13^th – 14^th Century CE). The temple is currently under the control of Endowment Department, Government of Orissa.
