Ananthalvar Temple, Tirumala, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh
Ananthalvar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to
Vaishnavite Seer, Ananthalvar, located at Tirumala in Tirupati in Andhra
Pradesh. Ananthalvar had stayed in Thirumala and had done Kainkaryam to Lord
Balaji. Most of the people are not aware of Ananthalvar, and his crowbar history.
Ananthalvar was a great devotee of Lord Sri Venkateswara. Every day, he does
flower service to the Lord. One day he decided to put up a flower garden on
Tirumala hills near to the temple.
Ananthalvar took a vow to complete this work by him and
his wife only. He began digging the water well. Lord decided to help them after
watching their hard work. So, he appears as a boy and starts helping his wife
to throw mud outside. By seeing this, Ananthalvar got angry and throws his
crowbar to the kid. The crowbar hits that boy's chin and the boy disappears
from there. After finishing the garden work, Ananthalvar went to the temple to
offer worship, he was astonished to notice that the Lord’s Chin got hurt and
bleeding continuously.
Ananthalvar realized that boy was none other than Lord Venkateswara
and he immediately rubs the idol with camphor to stop bleeding. The crowbar
which hit the Lord can be seen at the entrance of this temple. The Temple is
situated in West Mada Street. The Temple is located at about 250 meters from Tirumala
RTC Bus Station, 400 meters from Tirumala Venkateshwara Swamy Temple, 1 Km from
