Panchamukhi Shiva Temple,
Baranagar, West Bengal
Panchamukhi Shiva Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in Baranagar Village in Murshidabad Jiaganj Tehsil in Murshidabad District in the state of West Bengal, India. This Temple is situated on the banks of the Hooghly River. The temple has been classified as a Monument of National Importance by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).

The Temple
This temple is facing towards south and situated on a
small garden. The temple was built on low raised platform. It is dochala or Ek Bangla (2 roofed hut
shaped). The
temple consists of a small garbhagriha and a verandah with triple arched entrances.
The Sanctum houses a five faced Shiva Linga. The frontal façade is decorated
lavishly with terracotta ornamentations depicting the legends from Ramayana. Much of the terracotta works are faded due to the colour coating.
