Adi Badri, Chamoli – Legends
Lord
Vishnu resided here in first three Yugas:
As per the legend, Lord Vishnu resided in Adi Badri in
the first three Yugas i.e. Satya, Treta & Dwapara Yugas and shifted to
Badrinath only in Kali Yuga. Hence it is called as Adi Badri.
Adi
Shankaracharya sanctified these Temples:
Similar to the other Himalayan temples, it is believed
that this temple was also sanctified by Adi Shankaracharya.
Origin
of Saraswathi:
The Kund that is found inside the temple premises is
believed to be the origin of the river Saraswathi.
Ved
Vyasa wrote Bhagawad Gita here:
It is believed that Maha Rishi Ved Vyasa wrote Bhagawad
Gita at this spot.
Adi
Badri:
Adi Badri is one the five Badri temples in Uttarakhand,
India. "Adi" means ancient and "Badri" means Jujube tree. These
places were in the ancient times covered by the Jujube tree where the Lord
Vishnu spent several years performing penance.
Yog
Badri:
It is said that at the end of Kaliyuga, when Badrinath
passage will get blocked due to collapse of mountains, Badrinath (also known as
Raj Badri) will be shifted to Bhavishya Badri, Adi Badri will be called as Yog
Badri.
