Ranganathaswamy Temple, Shivanasamudra – Connectivity
The Temple is located at about 17 Kms from Kollegal, 18
Kms from Kollegal Bus Station, 40 Kms from Hanur, 55 Kms from Mandya, 57 Kms
from Mandya Railway Station, 70 Kms from Mysuru, 70 Kms from Mysuru Railway Junction,
75 Kms from Mysore Airport, 74 Kms from Srirangapatna, 127 Kms from Bengaluru
and 169 Kms from Bengaluru Airport.
By Road:
Shivanasamudra is not well connected by bus. Buses fly
regularly to Kollegal from Bangalore's KSRTC Satellite bus stand as well as
Mysore. From Kollegal, one can hire autorickshaw to reach the Temple. However,
buses to Kollegal can be crowded and hiring a cab from Bangalore or Mysore is
advisable.
There are two ways to reach Shivanasamudra from
Bangalore. From Bangalore, you can drive along the Bangalore Mysore highway
till Maddur. Immediately after Maddur Bus station, take a left towards
Malavalli. Keep going further straight from Malavalli and you'll reach
Shivanasamudra. The road is good upto Maddur, after which, the road condition
deteriorates. However, this is the best road to reach Shivanasamudra from
Bangalore. A non-stop journey would take approximately 3 hours from Bangalore.
Alternately, one can reach Malavalli from Bangalore via
Kanakapura. Take the Kanakapura road from Bangalore which is in good condition.
Immediately after Kanakapura, the road branches into two. Take the road which
is slightly to the right to reach Malavalli. The left branch leads to Sangama,
Makedattu and Chunchi falls. After reaching Malavalli, take a left turn to go
to Shivanasamudra.

Train:
Nearest Railway Stations are located at Mysore and
Mandya.
By Air:
Nearest Airports are located at Mysuru and Bengaluru.
