Kalpeshwar Temple, Chamoli – Connectivity
Urgam is located at about 29 Kms from Joshimath, 251 Kms
from Rishikesh Railway Station, 254 Kms from Rishikesh, 268 Kms from Dehradun
Airport, 274 Kms from Haridwar, 275 Kms from Haridwar Railway Station and 499
Kms from New Delhi Airport. Kalpeshwar is situated at an altitude of 2,134 mts.
above sea level near Urgam Valley in Chamoli district
of Uttarakhand state.
It can be reached by an easy trek of 11 km starting from
Helang. The captivating Urgam valley can be reached after a trek of 9 kms from
Helang. There are two routes from Urgam Valley one ending up at Kalpeshwar and
other going to Panar and Rudranath via Dumak. Earlier, the temple is reached
after a trek of 12 km from Helang, the nearest motor head on Rishikesh -
Badrinath route. But now a motorable road has been built up to Urgam village
from Helang. Visitors need to trek only 2 km from Urgam to Kalpeshwar.
