Ashta Sambhu Siva Temples are collection of 8 Hindu
Temples dedicated to Lord
Shiva located in Bhubaneswar,
the state capital of Odisha, India. The Temple is situated inside the Uttaresvara Temple Complex. Ashta means eight and
Sambhu refers to another name of Lord Shiva. These eight temples are of
identical size and dimension. Five of them are arranged in one alignment are
also known as Pancha Pandava.
History
The Temple was believed to be built in 10th
Century CE by Soma Vamshi Kings based on its architectural features. The
temple is under the private ownership and is maintained by the Ratnakara
Gargabatu and family.
