Dakara Bibhishaneswara Temple is a Hindu
Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva
located in Bhubaneswar, the state capital of Odisha, India. The Temple is located at a short distance from the eastern
gate of Lingaraja Temple.

Builder of this Temple:
As per Hindu mythology, the temple was believed to be
built by Vibhishana, brother of demon King Ravana.
Messenger
god for Lord Lingaraj:
The word Dakara means “to call”. The deity is known to
be messenger god for Lord Lingaraj.
History
The Temple was believed to be built in 11th
Century AD. The Temple was renovated in 1970 by Bhubaneswar Municipal
Corporation under the supervision of historian Kedarnath Mahapatra.
The Temple
It is a Pancharatha Temple noteworthy for erotic
sculptures on its Vimana. The Vimana follows Rekha Deula Architecture.
Presiding Deity is called as Dakara Bibhishaneswara. He is housed in the
sanctum in the form of Lingam. Except the sanctum, all the structures in the
temple are of recent construction.
